Carolake In Demand

Sh Ch Ritzilyn Brandon JW ex Stanroph Endelwood Natasha JW, SGWC, ShCM
DOB 28th September 2007

At 12 1/2 years old, it was time for Demi to be the "calendar girl"... She also featured on the 2019 Christmas card which was very well received.

Demi is Nina's daughter from her third and final litter, and she remained behind when her nine brothers and sisters went on to their new homes. A sweet puppy with an "engaging smile", she has fitted in nicely and made her mark in the show ring. Like her half-sister, Heidi, she comes alive in the ring with the same question "do you want a biscuit?!". She has also shown an interest in field work and has joined the picking up team over the past couple of seasons.

Demi at GRC of Scotland

2008 - Demi had a wonderful puppy career with many wins and placings, including a Best Of Breed, 2 Best Puppy In Breed, 2 Group placings and she topped things off with a Best Puppy in Show at Bedford & DCS on her first birthday, qualifying her for the East Anglian Super Match. She won Minor Puppy Bitch at the Golden Retriever Club of Scotland and so qualified for Crufts 2009. She also won Minor Puppy Bitch at Birmingham National, Maiden Bitch at Southern Counties and Novice Bitch at Paignton Championship shows and a total of 24 placings at other championship shows during the year.

2009 - At the East Anglian Super Match, Demi won through to the third round where she was beaten by the eventual puppy winner, an Akita. There was a formal dinner and dance to follow the puppy and adult matches, and competitors were asked to turn up in all their finery and make the day even more special by adding to the glitz. Demi enjoyed the showing but was less impressed to go back into her soft crate while all the humans sat down to roast beef and yorkshire pudding!

Head study of Demi

2010 - On 28th March Demi produced her first litter to Willowlawn Entent Cordiale. She was an excellent mum and they all thrived. We had the benefit of good weather for their second month and they loved being out, charging around on the back lawn like things possessed. Carolake Next In Line (Bella), owned by Phil and Sue Parkins, has made a promising start to her show career and I thank Phil and Sue for letting me steal her away and take her into the ring.

2011 - Demi has had a good year, winning her graduate class at both GRC of Wales and Bournemouth Championship Shows, she was placed 4th in her class at Crufts and won several Best of Breeds with group placings at Open Shows. Her daughter, Bella, has also competed along side her and had some noteable successes, including qualifying for Crufts 2012.

2012 - Only lightly shown this year Demi had to stand aside for Bliss and Flynn. However, she had some creditable places and is always a joy to have out and about.

2013 - Demi had nice placings at her limited number of shows, standing aside for Bliss. The litter we hope for did not materialise and so we hope to try again for her in 2014.

Demi walking Genevieve!

2014 - Demi thrilled us with a 3rd in a huge class of 28 bitches at Manchester Championship Dog Show in January. Accompanying us on our travels to Ireland she was 3rd in Mid Limit Bitch at the Ulster GRC Championship Show and in May she won the same class at National Dog Show under Mr F Knippenborg

Mated to two different dogs over two years she failed to conceive. At the end of 2014 she had a pyometra and had to be spayed – it seemed that she had cystic ovaries and this was the reason for her failure to get pregnant. Sadly we do not have a daughter of hers, something I much regret. Demi will be out and about at selected shows, probably in Veteran and will love being back in the ring.
