Carolake Love And Kisses

Sh Ch Goldenquest Ambassador JW ex Carolake Hide And Seek JW
DOB 13th March 2009

Bliss is Heidi's daughter from her 2009 litter. She enjoys making her presence felt amongst her "aunties" and is particularly fond of Seren - the feeling is not mutual.

Bliss is the comedienne in the family, continually moving things about - leaving you guessing as to where your belongings are now - as she trades one object for another on a whim. Bliss is a "full on" Goldie with a real zest for life. Best of friends with Demi, the only one to control her is her mother, and even she gives up at times!

Bliss at Crufts 2010

Bliss began her show career in style by winning Minor Puppy Bitch at her very first show, qualifying for Crufts on her first outing. She took her Junior Warrant after only 11 weeks in the ring - something of a record at Carolake.

2010 - Bliss took centre stage at Carolake during 2010. Shown above winning her class at Golden Retriever Club Championship Show under Mrs Valerie Foss (Elswood), her other most memorable moment was a 2nd in the Puppy Bitch class at Crufts 2010. She also won at National Dog Show, Southern Counties, City of Birmingham, Darlington, SWKA and Gundog Breeds of Scotland with a further 16 championship show placings, making it a very special year. Bliss has also joined the picking-up team with huge enthusiasm for the task in hand! She will be having some formal gundog training throughout the summer.

2011 - Bliss has had most the year off. She won Best of Breed at Taunton Show in January under Liz Fisher, and she did go to Manchester Championship Show where she gained a 3rd - sadly she was out of coat for Crufts and wasn't lucky enough to be in the cards this year. Once mated to Sh Ch Zampanzar Say It Again Shardannel (Archie) she stayed home until she had her litter on the 14th June. After a distressing whelping she settled easily into motherhood and reared her puppies beautifully. She has had a super season picking up at Gurston Down Shoot, where lack of coat doesn't matter and I plan to get her back into the ring early in 2012. Meanwhile her son, Flynn, owned in partnership with Mel Healey, has had some early success in the ring much to our delight.

2012 - Bliss had an amazing year with many wins at both championship and open shows. 11 Best of Breeds, many with group placings, including winning the Gundog Group at Taunton & DCS, she also won her first Reserve Challenge Certificate at Windsor Championship Show. She was also Best Bitch and Best Opposite Sex in Show at the Midland GRC open show in the summer. Once back out at Gurston Down Shoot she continued to excel in the field, being both fearsome and fearless when it came to catching running pheasants, she worked her socks off through some truly awful weather. In December she gained her Show Gundog Working Certificate on an official shoot day and topped things off by gaining her Kennel Club Good Citizens Award at a championship dog show. She really is "fit for function".

2013 - Once again Bliss has made us so proud of her. Not only a terrific picking up dog she also loves being in the ring and centre of attention. She started the year with a Best of Breed and Group 4 at Coventry LKS, was placed in her class at Crufts, won 5 1sts at championship shows and had 7 more placings at championship shows. Included in her haul she was awarded a 3rd in the Special Working class at the Golden Retriever Club Centenary Show under the now late Heather Morris. However her crowning glory was when she was awarded our first Challenge Certificate under Gloria Gargan at Bournemouth Championship show on home turf and in front of lots of our friends. She also claimed her Show Certificate of Merit to hang along side her other trophies. It was a truly thrilling year for us. She will now take time off from the show ring to hopefully have a litter in 2014.

I don't want to look!

2014 started quietly for Bliss. She attended Eastern Counties GRC Championship Show and was 3rd in the Working Gundog class. None of the girls went to Crufts and we waited for Bliss to be mated to Mojo (Pl Ch Carolake Make Believe), who Edyta kindly brought over from Poland when the time was right. Bliss produced a litter of 9 puppies on July 3rd 2014, 6 girls and 3 boys - just the same as her first litter. Two puppy girls stayed here with their mum, Summer (Carolake Question Of Time) and Alice (Carolake Quick Step). Events here meant that Bliss did not appear in the ring again during 2014.
